In the upcoming 2010 NFL draft the New York Jets are projected to pick 29th. The Jets hope to get another offensive weapon to complement Mark Sanchez.

The Jets would love another athletic, speedster wide receiver that can outrun any defender and get open to compliment Braylon Edwards and Jerricho Cotchery. With explosive receivers as in, Brad Smith, David Clowney and Dustin Keller, the New York Jets don't have that play maker receiver that teams really need to worry about. Not taking anything away from Braylon Edwards, and Jerricho Cotchery but they both haven't really done anything to really stand out as one of the top premiere receivers in the league. But both are still young and fresh so hopefully Braylon Edwards can get his hands up and Jerricho Cotchery can be that play make receiver, but until then the Jets either need to draft a first round wide receiver or trade for a big time receiver as in a player as Terrell Owens.

In the mock draft the New York Jets are projected to draft wide receiver Demaryius Thomas from Georgia Tech. The tall 6-3, 229 pound Demaryius Thomas will be a great fit for the New York Jets. For the Yellow Jackets last season, Thomas had a career best of 46 receptions for over 1100 yards and 8 touchdowns. He led the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets with a 11-2 record and a trip to the Fed Ex Orange Bowl. Even though they fell short in the Orange Bowl to Iowa (24-14) Thomas had a great season and career. In his Yellow Jackets career Thomas grabbed 120 balls for over 2300 yards and 14 touchdowns, and has never once in his career fumbled in a game.

If the Jets were to draft Thomas he should make a very good compliment to Cotchery and Edwards with his play making ability and his athleticism. This will hopefully open the Jets playbook and focus next year not all on running but add another weapon in the passing game. And next year Mark Sanchez will be a year older and will hopefully learn to take care of the ball and not make any bad decisions, so he can expand the playbook and let his receivers and running backs do the work.

Last week was the start of the N.F.L free agency. With big players out there such as; Brian Westbrooke, Brandon Marshall, Karlos Dansby, Terrell Owens, Thomas Jones, Julius Peppers, Dunta Robinson, Antrel Rolle, Chester Taylor, Vince Wilfork, and other big names.

The Jets have many free agents, but last week they made two huge cuts in releasing of veteran and long time Eagle corner back, in Lito Sheppard. Lito Sheppard and the Jets agreed last year in giving Sheppard a four-year, $27.2 million extension through 2013, and next year, he can receive a $10 million signing bonus in March. But the Jets did not take that option, after only one year with the Jets Lito Sheppard was released. I agree with this decision because even though he is a experienced veteran in and off the field, he did not have a good year for the Jets. He is also getting old and does not move like he used to back in his Eagle days. And with young corners as in Darelle Revis and Dwight Lowery there is no need to keep a average player that wont get any better who wants more money, than a young player who can improve and just play for the game and not the money.

Two days later the Jets shocked the N.F.L., and gained a huge prospect and play maker in their already best defense in the league. The Jets signed the explosive, young dynamic corner back as in Antonio Cromartie. Cromartie has been part of the San Diego Chargers since 2006, when signing a 5 year $12 million contract as a rookie in 2006. Cromartie had a break out year in 2008 with a total of 60 tackles, 4 assist, 2 interceptions, and 1 touchdown. He also had a great 2009 season with 31 tackles, 2 assist, 3 interceptions, and starting all 16 games. With him and Darrelle Revis, opposing quarterbacks will have a very hard time next year in finding receivers, and yet again the Jets should have once again a very young defense led by one of the best defensive coach, as in Rex Ryan.

The Jets also made another surprising move two days later with the news of releasing Free Safety as in Kerry Rhodes. Kerry Rhodes then signed a day later with the Arizona Cardinals for a fourth-round pick in this years draft, and a 7th rounder in the 2011 draft. Kerry Rhodes had a up and down season for the Jets, starting every game until the last couple when defensive coordinator and head coach Rex Ryan, felt that he wasn't contributing to the team's success. But after being benched, Rhodes then realized and played great in the last couple of games of the season and the playoffs. The Cardinals should be very pleased in their new acquirement with Rhodes and shouldn't be worried anymore about losing Rolle.
Last week was a hard pill to swallow as the Jets announced last Monday that they were going to release running back, Thomas Jones.

In my eyes Thomas Jones is one of the best running backs right now in the N.F.L, and seemed to be a very big part of the Jets organization. But I guess the Jets still can't past that Thomas Jones is 31 years old, and thinks that he doesn't have that many more good years in him.

I totally disagree in the New York Jets thinking of letting Thomas Jones go, mainly because he just had a break out year last year with rushing over 1,400 yards with 14 touchdowns, and averaging 4.2 yards per gain, while he was 30 and 31 years old. This is also very odd to me because since 2005 Thomas Jones has went over 1,000 yards and is top 5 in rushing yards since 2005 as well. I also disagree with the Jets organization because Thomas Jones has only attempted 2,280 rushes in his career which is very low for a 31 year old running back and has just reached his peak years right about now.

Another reason why the New York Jets shouldn't let Thomas Jones go is also because his commitment in the weight room and his leadership on the team. He also is very reliable, in which he played every game since 2006 and only missed one in 2005 and 2 games in 2004.

Even though the Jets did get rid of Thomas Jones, I'm not that worried about his replacements. With veteran and explosive leader in Leon Washington that can be a major threat in the kick and punt return game and also the running game, the Jets should have no worries. They also have their new and profound star in Shonn Greene, a rookie last year from Iowa that surprised everyone, even the Jets with his great play in the end of the year, which took a big load off Thomas Jones shoulders. So in a sense this does make some sense in why they did let Thomas Jones go, because they feel like they can feed off young backs in Washington and Greene. So hopefully next season Leon Washington and Shonn Greene can work good together, stay healthy and have a big season with no injuries and take what they learned from the years they played with Thomas Jones.

Even though Thomas Jones was probably mad about getting released from the New York Jets, he must be a little happy in which I believe that he will get a huge contract offer and will be getting paid from a team that needs a good running back and will give him a big offer that he can never deny, no matter what team it is. Thomas Jones have had the Cleveland Browns very interested and the very surprising New England Patriots. This will be a good move for Thomas Jones if the Patriots are really considering him, because its a franchise with huge success and respect and a team that is in the New York Jets conference (AFC East) and will play the Jets twice a year, where you know for sure he will want his revenge.

About over a month ago it was the start of the NFL Pro Bowl in Miami. It was the first year where it was the week before the Super Bowl and not in Hawaii and in the city where the Super Bowl was played.

The Jets had 5 players participate in the Pro Bowl this year. They were lead with 3 Offensive lineman and 2 defensive players. Alan Faneca (guard), D'Brickashaw Ferguson (offensive tackle), and Nick Mangold (center), completed the offensive side for Jets. Darrelle Revis (corner back), and Shaun Ellis (defensive end) completed the defensive side for the New York Jets.

Alan Faneca and D'Brickashawn Ferguson were chosen to be in the Pro Bowl because of there great blocking and creating huge holes for their explosive running backs, in Thomas Jones, Leon Washington, and Shonn Greene. They lead Thomas Jones in having another year over 1,000 yards and helping him to gain 14 touchdowns. Both Alan Faneca and D'Brickashaw Ferguson stayed healthy through out the season and started every game in the regular season as well as the playoffs.

Nick Mangold was chosen to be in the Pro Bowl because partly to his great leading skills in leading the offensive line for the New York Jets, and as well as his toughness, playing with a messed up hand and still playing all 16 games of the season Nick Mangold has to be considered one of the toughest players in the N.F.L. He also was a big part of the Jets being named as the number one rushing team in the N.F.L in the past year and a big part of Mark Sanchez staying healthy through out the whole year.

Darrelle Revis was chosen for the Pro Bowl because of his great athleticism and his lock down defense. Locking down wide receivers as in T.O., Chad Ochocinco, Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson, and Randy Moss makes him one of the best corners in the league. But locking down receivers is not the only thing he does, he also is a for sure tackler when receivers catch and in open space making receivers yards after catch averages go way down. He also is known as one of the best because of his ability to stay healthy through out a season, never missing a game yet in his young career.

The Jets big defensive end, Shaun Ellis also made the pro bow because of his great leadership, and toughness, helping the Jets becoming the number one defensive of rank in the N.F.L. Even though he did miss one game, he still was up there in tackles and did still have a solid 6.5 sacks, with one forced fumble and one pass deflection. He also came up big in division games, having 20 of his 53 tackles against either the Buffalo Bills, the New England Patriots, and the Miami Dolphins. He also had 6 out of his 6.5 sacks against those teams as well.

Over two months ago the New York Jets season came to an end. It was ended when they were defeated by the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship game.

The New York Jets lost a heart breaker to the Indianapolis Colts, and was not able to finish their remarkable Cinderella story season. The score of the game was 30 to 17 in favor of the Colts. The score does not reflect on how good the Jets played and how tough the game was for the Indianapolis Colts, and to believe it or not most people were shocked when the Jets took a lead into the second half shocking most of the world.

The first quarter was a great quarter for the Jets, not allowing the Colts to score at all with their explosive offense and their great quarter hall of fame quarterback was a huge confidence booster. Going into the second quarter the Jets shook off their nervousness and began playing with their "swag" again. Even though allowing a Matt Stover 25 yard field goal for the first points of the game, the Jets weren't rattled. Wasting no time, Mark Sanchez and the Jets threw a 80 yard touchdown pass to Braylon Edwards to give them a 7 to 3 lead. But yet again the Colts marched right down the field, but came short again of a touchdown, which was a great stop for the Jets, and only allowing them to another Matt Stover field goal, from 19 yards out. But yet again the Jets weren't affected by this, every time the Colts were to score it seemed that the Jets always played a little bit harder and had a spark in which they were determined to always score back. So the next possession Mark Sanchez found Dustin Keller, for a 9 yard touchdown pass on a crucial third down and goal. That gave the Jets a 14 to 6 lead and yet again shocking every body in the Colts stadium. And after a Jets defense stop of the Colts on their next drive the Jets took it down the field on the Colts once again but fell a little bit short of a touchdown but capped it off with a Jay Feely 48 yard field goal. But with time still on the clock Peyton Manning drove right down the field in 58 seconds and threw a 16 yard touchdown pass to Austin Collie for the last score and giving the Colts their confidence back going into the second half.

With the start of the second half both the Jets and the Colts had confidence, the Jets in which they had a lead and the Colts, in which they scored to end the first half with last second touchdown pass. But the third quarter was the Colts quarter. With a quarter that involved great play of defenses from the Jets and Colts, both teams found it hard to find their rhythm that they had in the second quarter, but with a late quarter touchdown, by a Pierre Garcon 4 yard reception from Peyton Manning gave the Colts a huge confidence booster and was probably the turning point of the game. And now the Jets were trailing 20 to 17 going into the final quarter of the game.

The Jets started the fourth quarter on the offensive side, but yet again getting stopped with no points, and their offensive struggles continued. Meanwhile the Colts were on fire and the Jets had no answers. On their first offensive series in the fourth quarter, Peyton Manning caped off a 3.33 minute drive by throwing a 4 yard touchdown pass to P. Garcon. The Jets were down now by 10 with a score of 27 to 17. And now you can tell the young New York Jets were in deep trouble and were in panic mode. With their defense tired and their offense very flat, the Jets had no answers. With another 3 and out, the Colts got the ball back, and yet again the Colts caped off another long possession with points by a Matt Stover field goal, which put the game out of reach with a 30 to 17 lead. This made the Jets and Mark Sanchez in desperate mode and were forced to try and make big plays but the Colts stopped that with a interception late by Hayden to end and crush the Jets dream.

Peyton Manning was 26/39 with 377 yards passing, with 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. With that Peyton Manning has thrown for 300 yards for 7 post season games, which passes Kurt Warner and Joe Montana for the most all time. With his top wide receiver, Reggie Wayne being on lock down by Darrel Revis, Peyton Manning completed 22 of 26 passes to WR's Pierre Garcon ( 11 catches, 151 yards) and Austin Collie ( 7 catches, 123 yards) and Tight End Dallas Clark ( 4 catches, 35 yards).

Mark Sanchez was 17/30 with 257 yards passing, with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. With that Mark Sanchez had one of his best games throwing wise and making big plays. With his powerful runners in Shonn Greene and Thomas Jones getting stuffed, Mark Sanchez was in a position to play big and he did not disappoint, with a red zone touchdown pass to Dustin Keller on third down and a 80 yard touchdown pass to Braylon Edwards, Sanchez only made one mistake by throwing a interception late, but had no choice where the game was pretty much over. All in all, it was a great learning experience for Mark Sanchez and the Jets, and will hopefully have better luck next year.

Last week the New York Jets defeated the San Diego Chargers, 17-14, in the Divisional round of the 2009-2010 playoffs. This was considered one of the biggest upsets in playoff history, because of the odds the Jets faced going into that game. They beat the hottest team, who was going into that game with a 11 game winning streak, with a overall record of 13-3.

The New York Jets are now looked as the "Cinderella Team" of the NFL, and have had many comparisons from the Arizona Cardinals of last year, who came out of know where, just as the Jets and made it into the Super Bowl. Just like the Jets, the Cardinals started the playoffs in the Wild Card round playing the young, explosive Atlanta Falcons and defeated them in a high scoring affair with a 30-24 win. The following week they played the 13-3 Carolina Panthers, who were high favorites in going to the super bowl and gave them a beating, 33-13. And in the NFC championship they hosted the Philadelphia Eagles, and beat them 32-25. Even though their Super Bowl run came a little short in a late minute defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers they still gained many teams respect and are now looked at as a competitive team in the NFL, as the Jets are trying to do now.

In the beginning of the playoffs many people considered the Jets as a team who just squeezed their way in by defeating 2 tough teams who were already in the playoffs. They were a team who no body would of ever think of winning their way all the way to the AFC championship game. Even Rex Ryan didn't even know that they even had a shot into the playoffs after a 10-7 lost in week 15 to the Atlanta Falcons. But with key losses by the Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, and the Pittsburgh Steelers, kept their playoff dreams alive.

But after wins against the Cincinnati Bengals and the San Diego Chargers they finally got a little bit of respect from the league. But they still not a lot, experts and analyst still put them down for the game against the Colts and was a +21 in the points margain. And it seems no matter what Sanchez does to make his New York Jets stay alive sports reporters and people around the league still say he's not a very good quarterback because of his low passing numbers and quarterback rating he receives. But that is not the New York Jets offense their plan is too run right at their opponent and wear them out until the fourth and force them into making mistakes and then getting that one big play that will put them ahead. Last week is a good example of that when the Jets were behind the whole game but in the fourth quarter Mark Sanchez found his big tight end, in Dustin Keller and got the lead for the first time and went up by 4.

This week will be a big test though for the New York Jets, in which that they are playing one of the best or the best quarterback of all time, as in Peyton Manning. The key for them to win this week is in pressuring Peyton Manning and making him make mistakes, in which he doesnt do. If they do that and remember that if their in the beginning and down that their are 4 quarters and not just 1, 2, or 3. They also can't get too high if they have a lead because Peyton Manning can get any team back in it no matter any aspect of a game. The Jets also can't give him a rythm and let him get one on one in the secondary, because with players as in Reggie Wayne and Pierre Garcon they will beat you everytime down the field, and is one catch from making a big play.

And in order to win this week against the Colts the Jets must establish their run game from the start with Shonn Greene and Thomas Jones and get them running north and south and wear down the Colts little but fast defense. They also need to get Mark Sanchez's confidence up and get him a lead so he can establish himself and feel comfortable in his first real big game. His offense of line also needs to protect him and not get Mark Sanchez hit by big Dwight Freeny and Roger Mathis.

Week 17 was a historic night for The New York Jets franchise. It was their last game at Giants Stadium, and a night where the Jets clinched a playoff spot since 2006.

They defeated the Cincinnati Bengals easily, 37-0 to clinch a spot in the playoffs. They now had confidence into the playoffs and knew that they deserved to be there. But the Jets really got their "swagger" when the defeated the undefeated colts at Indianapolis in week 16, and was now a team that everyone finally respected and recognized. Even though some might say they only won their last 2 games because the starters didn't play for the Bengals and Colts, they still earned their spot like every other team that made it into the playoffs.

The Jets finished the season with a 9-7 record and came in second in their division and first in the wild card. They were the number 1 defense in the league allowing only 14.8 points a game, in a league with the best passing quarterbacks, as in Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and shutting them down and having a 2-2 record against them. Their defense was led by their stud pro bowl corner back Darrel Revis, who is in some eyes the best corner in the league right now. Holding top wide receivers in check, as in Randy Moss, Chad Ochocinco, Reggie Wayne, and Andre Johnson. The Jets also led the NFL in rushing yards, averaging 172.2 yards per game. Thomas Jones was a big factor with that accomplishment. For the 5th straight year Thomas Jones rushed for over 1,000 yards, and being recognized in the league as a top runner. He did not just do it alone, with the help of Leon Washington and Shonn Greene, a rookie from the University of Iowa, who took the role of Leon Washington after his season ending leg injury. Shonn Greene was a major factor at the end of the year for the Jets. He also took the load off Thomas Jones and ran just as well, rushing for 135 yards on 21attempts and scoring 1 touchdown against the Bengals in his first playoff game and the first round of the playoffs to secure a 24 to 14 win.

The Jets are now moving on to face the hot San Diego Chargers, who have a won 11 straight games and winners of their division with a 13-3 record. Philip Rivers was a huge role for the Chargers' winning streak, throwing for over 4,000 yards with 28 touchdowns and only throwing 9 interceptions. He also had a quarterback rating of 104.4, which was top 5 in the NFL, earning a ticket to the pro bowl for the second straight year. Philip Rivers also earned his team the 4th ranked offense in the league, averaging 28.4 points a game. Philip Rivers also finished top 5 in passing yards a game with 271.1 yards a game. But the Jets just can't focus on Rivers, the Chargers also have explosive runners as in LT and Darren Sproiles, who can change a game in one play.

The Jets will have a hard time stopping this explosive offense but coach Rex Ryan seems very confident in his team. His defensive secondary was the best in the league allowing only 8 touchdown passes all year outside the red zone. This was due to the fact of his great defensive play calls of blitzing almost every down, and his athletic athletes in the secondary to make plays at any given moment.

The Jets should be very confident, in which this year the Jets were 4-2 in either games played down south or in a dome, and averaging 30 points a game. The Jets are also confident in their young rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez. Returning back to California since playing at Oakland and beating them earlier in the season 37-0, Mark Sanchez should have no problem playing this week. This will be a homecoming for Mark, and should have no excuses of the weather and the conditions. If he protects the ball as in he did last week against the Bengals you should look for a big game by him and the others.

If the Jets were to win this game and pull off a major upset it would be one of the best wins in franchise history. And if the Baltimore Ravens were to beat the Indianapolis Colts the game next weekend for the AFC Championship would be at the New York Jets, at Giants Stadium. That would recently be the last game at Giants Stadium after 60 years hosting the Jets. It would be a remarkable finish to a great season if the Jets were to win and move on into the Super Bowl on February 7th in Miami.

Hello, my name is Carlos Bolorin and I attend Rush Henrietta Senior High School.

I am a 16 year old Junior, who will be turning 17 next month on the 4th. Sports are a big part of my life and I play football, and baseball for Rush Henrietta and basketball for Good Shepard. My favorite teams consist of the New York Jets, The New York Yankees and The New York Knicks. I am very into playing poker online or with my friends, and playing Call of Duty. My future plans from high school is to go to college to play baseball, while majoring either in business or journalism.

My Blogs will consist of news and information about the New York Jets, and I will be reflecting on their season of the 2009-2010 season.

This season was a great season for the New York Jets. Even though many people, and fans had their doubt on their stud rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez, the Jets had a great season and made the playoffs for the first time since 2004.

The Jets started the season 3-0 with a big win against their division rival the New England Patriots. All of a sudden the Jets came from being a team with no respect to a well respected team. People were now jumping on the Mark Sanchez bandwagon and finally believed in him.

But after that 3-0 start the Jets lost 3 straight close games, including to the rival Dolphins and Bills. Yet again the New York people had their doubts.

The season quickly turned around in week 7 after the Jets pounded the Oakland Raiders, 38-0. But next week brought another defeat by the Dolphins, so now the Jets were 1-3 in the division. But the Jets recovered and took the bye in week 9 and improved their defense and rushing attack and ended the season winning 6 of their last 8 games, finishing 2-4 in their division and made the playoffs in the last week of the season against the Cincinatti Bengals.
